The brother of Qandeel Baloch, whose risqué social media posts angered conservative Pakistan, on Sunday, July 17, admitted to killing her for the household’s ‘honour’
Muhammad Waseem, who was arrested late on Saturday, stated he gave a “pill” to Baloch to subdue her after which strangled her of their household house over the weekend.
“I’ve no regrets,” he informed journalists in a press convention organized by the police early on Sunday.
“The police arrested Muhammad Waseem, brother of Qandeel Baloch, for killing his sister late on Saturday,” Multan Metropolis police chief Azhar Akram informed AFP. “Waseem confessed to his crime, saying he killed his sister for honour after her current objectionable movies, largely posted on Fb.”
The killing despatched shock waves throughout Muslim Pakistan and triggered an outpouring of grief on social media for Baloch, whose actual title was Fauzia Azeem.
In Fb posts, Baloch, 26, spoke of making an attempt to vary “the standard orthodox mindset” of individuals in Pakistan. She confronted frequent misogynist abuse and loss of life threats however continued to publish provocative footage and movies.
