Ondo result: Akeredolu lauds Jegede, Oke

The Ondo State Governor-elect, Chief Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), has recommended his opponents on the final governorship election within the state for accepting the results of the election in good religion.

The time allowed by legislation to file petitions on the Election Petitions Tribunal to problem the ballot consequence lapsed on Sunday, December 18, 2016, which was 21 days after the announcement of the outcomes of the ballot.

No contestant had filed a petition towards the winner of the ballot as of Sunday.

Akeredolu was declared the winner of the election by the Unbiased Nationwide Electoral Fee after defeating 26 candidates of different political events within the November 26 ballot.

The governor-elect, who spoke with our correspondent on Tuesday at his hometown in Owo, Owo Native Authorities Space of Ondo State, believed that the election was free and honest.

He recommended the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Social gathering within the election, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), and his counterpart within the Alliance for Democracy, Chief Olusola Oke, for displaying good sportsmanship by not difficult the results of the election on the tribunal.
